Location: Port Byron, Rock Island County, Illinois
Water Source:
Drop: 8-10 Feet
Directions: From I-88 near the Quad Cities, take the Exit 10 and follow Rt. 84 to Port Byron. The waterfall is off the road upstream of where it passes under the highway near the far end of town before it spills into the Mississippi River.
Notes: I visited this waterfall in April, 2002. I asked a young girl at a store in town how to get to the falls, and she gave me directions. I'm not sure if it is on private or public land. I believe the waterfall used to be part of the Girl Scout camp in town before it was closed down and sold. I learned about a waterfall in Port Byron through an article in the local newspaper. I don't know the name of this waterfall, if it has a name.
There were lots of wildflowers in bloom when I visited the waterfall.
