Directions: From I-10 near Chipley take exit 120 and go south on Rt. 77 for .8 mile to State Park Road to the left (east). Go on State Park Road straight through Falling Waters Road into the Falling Waters State Park (1-2 miles) to the parking area.
Notes: I went to Falling Waters Falls in Florida June 19, 2005. There was a $4.00 entrance fee to the park. Near the restrooms is a cement walk that takes you the short distance to the falls.
Falling Waters Falls is the highest waterfall in Florida. I was told by the ranger at the park that it is really the only waterfall in Florida besides a few small drops of 1-2 feet in some of the rivers. This waterfall is unique in that the water drops into one of the deep sinkholes in the park.
The first photo above is of the water at the top of the falls; the second photo is lookoing down into the sinkhole.
