ODE TO A TOAD

I was just a tadpole
when I was a tot.
Then I grew into a frog,
just a teenage snot.
But now I’m old
and just a toad
who likes to tell frog jokes,
so listen fast,
it won’t take long
till this old bullfrog croaks.
